Bingjie Yang
Researcher

I am an organic geochemist and my research focuses on:
1) proxy development using lipid biomarkers.
2) applying both organic and inorganic geochemical proxies to geologic records to study past climate and ecosystem changes.
3) Dynamics of terrestrial organic carbon mobility, cycling and storage in response to natural and anthropogenic disturbances.
My current research explores post-wildfire soil carbon dynamics. I use an integrated approach combining lipid, isotopic and genetic analyses to understand wildfire-driven changes in soil microbial metabolism and their impacts on carbon storage.
