Johan Gren

I work since August 2012 as a PhD student in the field of molecular palaeobiology led by Johan Lindgren. My main projects include studies of fossil so-called melanosomes, a kind of pigment-bearing organelles that are found in skin, hair, feathers and eyes of most organisms. By studying shape and molecular composition of these organelles we are hoping to recreate some of the coloration in various long-extinct species, including fish, birds, insects and dinosaurs.
