Lena Adrielsson

My position as senior lecturer at the Department of Geology involves teaching and research.

I teach several courses on different levels. My special subjects are physical sedimentology and glacial geology, but I am also teaching courses in geomorphology and landscape analysis. Besides their knowledge in geology it is important for our students to develop attitudes and skills, and I have introduced a special training program, integrated in all courses on undergraduate level. The program gives an all-around training and a gradual increase of competence in a wide range of transferable skills.

My research focuses on physical sedimentary processes and products, and on reconstructions of sedimentary environments related to large ice sheets. I am particularly interested in till forming processes and drainage patterns at the base of the south-Scandinavian palaeo-ice lobes, but I also deal with late Quaternary glaciation-, deglaciation-, and climate history in a wider perspective, both in the Arctic and in Scandinavia.
