Postdoctoral fellow
About
I am a Vetenskaprådet (VR) International Postdoc at LU and will soon be based at the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) in Cambridge, UK.
Research
I am interested in Paleoclimatology, Ice core sciences, Past climate changes, and Space climate/weather. At the moment, my main focus is to use cosmogenic radionuclides in ice cores (10Be & 36Cl) and in sediments (10Be) to discover and reconstruct notable events from our Sun that occurred prior to the instrumental era. This includes the discovery of extreme solar storms that would cripple parts of our modern technologies should they hit Earth today. This also includes the assessment of major changes in solar activity throughout the Holocene and the Last Ice Age that have affected climate through mechanisms that are not yet fully understood.
